Jonah Kowall is Senior Vice President, Product and Design, at Spacelift, where he leads product management, design, and product strategy for the company's infrastructure-as-code orchestration platform. A computer scientist and longtime open source advocate, he serves on the founding team and technical leadership committee for OpenSearch, maintains the CNCF-graduated Jaeger distributed tracing project, and contributes to OpenTelemetry. He previously led product and design at Paessler and held leadership roles at Aiven, Logz.io, Kentik, AppDynamics, and Cisco, and led IT operations and monitoring research at Gartner. He holds CISSP and CISA certifications and writes regularly on observability, open source, infrastructure automation, and DevOps.
