In the race to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) agents across enterprises, a critical question has emerged: Who’s managing these autonomous digital workers? Boomi has an answer with the launch of AI Studio, a first-of-its-kind governance platform designed to bring order to what could quickly become AI agent chaos.

The Growing AI Agent Governance Crisis

According to Gartner, by 2028, 33% of enterprise software applications will include agentic AI—up from less than 1% today—enabling 15% of daily business decisions to be made autonomously. Yet this rapid adoption creates significant risks, with predictions that 25% of enterprise breaches will be tied to AI agent abuse by the same year.

As Boomi’s chief product and technology officer Ed Macosky explains, the company has already “deployed more than 25,000 AI Agents for customers,” demonstrating both market demand and the urgent need for governance solutions.

A Comprehensive Management Framework

Boomi AI Studio offers a structured approach to the entire AI agent lifecycle through four integrated components:

  • Agent Designer: Enables creation of AI agents using no-code templates with built-in security guardrails, ensuring they operate on trusted enterprise data.
  • Agent Control Tower: Provides comprehensive monitoring and visibility across both Boomi-native and third-party agents (starting with Amazon Bedrock), allowing organizations to maintain security and compliance standards.
  • Agent Garden: A unified workspace where users interact with AI agents through natural language, facilitating seamless collaboration and task execution while supporting design, testing and deployment.
  • Agent Marketplace: Integrated into Boomi Marketplace, this hub offers access to pre-built and customizable AI agents from Boomi and trusted partners.

Enterprise Benefits Beyond Risk Mitigation

While security concerns drive much of the conversation around AI governance, properly managed agent ecosystems offer substantial productivity gains. When implemented correctly, Boomi suggests their integration platform can deliver tenfold improvements in productivity.

Amit Sinha, president and co-founder of WorkSpan, highlights this dual benefit: “Boomi AI Studio delivers precisely what enterprises need to harness AI at scale—comprehensive governance, seamless orchestration, and a robust framework for integrating AI across operations.”

Industry analyst Shawn Rogers, CEO of BARC US, notes that Boomi is “addressing a critical gap in the market, setting a standard for managing AI agents at scale. While many vendors focus on releasing new agents, few are tackling the essential challenge of managing, deploying, curating, and optimizing these environments effectively.”

Availability and Roadmap

Boomi is accepting applications for early access to AI Studio, with general availability planned for Q2 2025 following feedback from initial adopters. The platform aims to be vendor-agnostic, allowing enterprises to design, orchestrate and optimize AI agents, whether built on Boomi or third-party technologies.

As organizations embrace the potential of agentic AI, Boomi’s solution offers a timely response to an emerging challenge—enabling innovation while providing the necessary guardrails to ensure these powerful tools remain controlled, secure and aligned with business objectives.

For CIOs and technology leaders plan their AI adoption strategies, the message is clear: governance infrastructure needs to be established now before autonomous agents become too deeply embedded in enterprise operations to manage effectively.
