Continuing an onslaught of news from the Dreamforce conference, Salesforce Inc. on Tuesday said it is expanding collaborations with OpenAI and Anthropic to bring those companies’ most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models into its newly launched Agentforce 360 platform.
The partnerships — designed to enhance Salesforce establish itself as a hub for enterprise AI tools — will integrate OpenAI’s GPT-5 model and Anthropic’s Claude AI family directly into Salesforce’s software ecosystem. This would let businesses deploy AI agents that interact with customer data across ChatGPT, Slack, and other Salesforce applications, according to Salesforce.
The twin accords come as enterprise software companies compete to embed generative AI capabilities into workplace tools, with Salesforce positioning its Agentforce 360 platform, which launched globally Monday, as a unified system for creating and managing AI agents across organizations.
Under the expanded OpenAI agreement, users will be able to access Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 features from within ChatGPT, including building data visualizations in Tableau and developing custom AI agents. A new Agentforce Commerce tool will enable merchants to sell products through ChatGPT’s Instant Checkout while maintaining control over customer data and order fulfillment.
The Anthropic partnership targets regulated industries, with Claude models being made available to customers in financial services, healthcare, and cybersecurity through Salesforce’s cloud infrastructure. The companies plan to develop industry-specific AI applications and integrate Claude more deeply into Slack and the Agentforce 360 platform.
The dual announcements signal Salesforce’s strategy to offer customers access to multiple leading AI models rather than relying on a single provider, aiming to serve businesses across different sectors with varying compliance and security requirements.
