Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer an emerging trend; it’s a global force rapidly reshaping everything from the cloud to the car.

AI technologies collectively represent one of the most profound societal changes ever seen. In fact, research conducted by The Futurum Group projects that the rise of AI agents alone is expected to drive up to $6 trillion in economic value by 2028, with 89% of CIOs now identifying agentic AI as a strategic priority.

However, successfully implementing any type of AI isn’t exactly easy. The challenge most organizations are encountering largely falls into two major categories. First is, the pace of innovation only continues to accelerate with, for example, the recent rise of smaller language models (SLMs) that have been trained to enable AI agents to autonomously execute tasks.

The second issue is determining where and how to optimally employ AI. Financial resources are not infinite and not every task lends itself equally well to be automated using AI agents. Many organizations are also struggling with custom AI platforms they are now finding difficult to maintain and secure.

According to Futurum Research, a full 60% of do-it-yourself (DIY) initiatives fail to scale past pilot stages due primarily to a lack of return on investment (ROI) clarity. Three quarters (75%) of DIY AI projects also have experienced prolonged development cycles and 78% of CIOs cite security, compliance and data control as primary scaling obstacles for AI agents.

All these and other related AI challenges will be explored in depth during a Six Five Summit: AI Unleashed virtual event that kicks off with a keynote from Michael Dell, founder, chairman, and CEO of Dell Technologies followed by other AI luminaries, including, of course, Patrick Moorhead, chief analyst for Moor Insights & Strategy, and Daniel Newman, CEO of The Futurum Group.

In total, there will be 14 distinct content tracks spanning everything from AI in the enterprise, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, ecosystems and even quantum computing.

“We’re breaking the barriers of traditional tech events,” says Patrick Moorhead. “The Six Five Summit delivers the insights that matter, without the noise or friction.”

Daniel Newman adds, “This is the summit we’d want to attend—if we weren’t already hosting it.”

There is little doubt that AI technologies will soon transform the way we live, work and play. The challenge now is distinguishing between what might still be an aspiration versus an actually achievable goal. Just as critically important, given the pace of innovation, is that business and IT leaders need to be able to identify what AI technologies provide them a sustainable competitive advantage versus something that is about to become the next table stake that every organization is expected to have.

Regardless of where any organization is on their AI journey, the one thing that is certain is there is never a substitute for shared experience. Learning from the success, and miscues, of fellow business and IT leaders is invaluable; and one of the simplest and easiest ways to gain those insights is to be found right here.
