LAS VEGAS — ServiceNow Inc. continued its artificial intelligence (AI) agent rampage Wednesday, with a new workflow data ecosystem that unites data platforms, applications and open-source tools.
The company’s new Workflow Data Network, announced at the Knowledge25 show here, is a broad ecosystem of data platforms, applications and enterprise tools that power AI agents and workflows with real-time intelligence. Partnerships with Adobe Inc., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Corp., Oracle Corp. and others offer seamless integration and workflow automation.
As part of Wednesday’s keynote presentation on Workflow Data Network, ServiceNow said it had agreed to acquire data.world, a data catalog and data governance solution, for an undisclosed sum. The latest ServiceNow purchase is expected to close in the summer, said Gaurav Rewari, senior vice president and general manager of data and analytics products at ServiceNow.
“The road to agentic AI heaven goes through hell,” Rewari said in an interview. “As part of the Workflow Data Network, ServiceNow is working with some of the largest companies in the world to eliminate data silos head-on, enabling enterprises to accelerate AI adoption at scale.”
Indeed, just a scant 4% of chief information officers think their data is AI ready, and 60% of AI projects will fail because data isn’t ready, according to a Gartner survey.
“In the space in sales area, there are frustrations over unstructured data,” Terence Chesire, product management leader at ServiceNow, said in an interview Wednesday. “Folks in that field are super excited” about orchestration and automation in “speed of thought” to close sales, he added.
ServiceNow also announced it is partnering with Apiiro to integrate its AI-native Code-to-Runtime Matching and Deep Code Analysis capabilities into the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database. “This integration is a major milestone for Apiiro and the ASPM market at large, as IT operations, security operations, and application security continue to converge,” said John Leon, vice president of partnerships and business development at Apiiro.
AI is the linchpin of enterprises worldwide, ServiceNow executives hammered home, and the mad scramble to supply platforms and tools will unfold rapidly over the next year as the C-suite decides on solutions.
“CEOs are mindful that the global economy is in a fluid state. No, they are not standing still,” ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott said during the company’s recent first-quarter earnings call. “In all industries, we see a renewed focus on cost takeout by rooting out inefficiencies, modernizing outdated tech stacks, and restoring an integrated enterprise. ServiceNow has never been more relevant given our alignment to these precise business priorities and the unmatched speed to value from deployment that our technology delivers. We are built for this moment.”
